Dear Painters and Friends,
Another great year in our world of rose
painting and certainly a busy one!
We have been to 9 Craft and Quilt Fairs
and 2 Stitches and Craft Shows since March this year, traveling to all the major
cities in Australia and in Hamilton, New Zealand.
We have had the pleasure
of meeting so many new students and catching up with those of you who just keep
“popping up” for another “rose refresher”.
Through the Pre Show classes and
our daily classes in the Show Studio we have introduced over 1400 new happy
painters to the beautiful art form of Decorative Painting. Welcome!
The
seminar we held at home here in July was fabulous .Thirteen ladies attended and
it was a very relaxed and enjoyable time. Each left with four beautiful
completed projects and a big smile on their faces.
With such a great response
we have decided to add three more weekend seminars to our 07 schedule.
If you
need a wonderful weekend of pure painting pleasure with nothing to think about
than painting beautiful roses, the dates will be listed on our Itinery for May,
June, July and November. We look forward to seeing you in class! We have also
just finished our first” Ros Singleton TEACHER CERTIFYING COURSE”.
We
are happy to announce our 3 certifying teachers from around the world, who are
now certified to teach Ros Singletons Roses as well as conduct Teacher
Certification Classes.

Congratulations to the girls and all the best with your classes beginning in
the New Year.
If you are interested in taking one of our Teacher
Certification Courses in 07 to be qualified to go out and teach under our name.
Please contact us for more details and dates.
Having a project published in the Decorative Painter Magazine – USA was
another highlight to our year.
For those who didn’t see the article in the
July/Aug 06 issue, it was a lovely plate with White
roses.
We are currently planning our 07 Itinery, but
there are a few dates to be finalized. It will be up on our website
shortly and includes two visits to the USA, which we are really looking forward
to.
We have a booth at the Creative Painting Convention in Las Vegas U.S.A in
February, as well as a few seminars in the area. This will be a great time to
meet and teach more enthusiastic painters on the other side of the world!
Contact Barbra Teeple for more information.

Video Special
For the months of December and January we
have a special on all of our Video titles at only $25.00 each.
(Normally
$33.00) For those of you who haven’t yet painted a landscape or some round brush
flowers our titles “Australian Landscapes” and “Daisies and other Cottage
Flowers” are great. You will enjoy all of the fun techniques that are just that
little bit different. Have you ever thought to turn your work upside down to
paint a tree? Ros takes you through all the clever ways to make painting a
landscape lots of fun! Great present for a male who’s looking to get
started.
Here is a good tip for practicing Highlighting
Take a
sheet of black paper and transfer any of the patterns onto the paper using light
coloured graphite.
Turn to highlighting in the book on page 24 and follow
the illustrations through using Metallic Gold flow paint. You will create a rose
just by using highlighting techniques and the dark background will act as the
shadow.
You can often pick up little note books, diaries photo albums etc.
in dark colours that these roses look great on. Paint the roses on and then
finish them off with some gold dimensional scrolls (page 25). They make fabulous
gifts, and you get to practice your highlighting.
Did you know?
Matisse Background colours have an in built
sealer of highly pigmented gesso that can be applied to almost any surface. It
can be used directly onto wood and will cover and create a smooth matt- velvet
surface to paint on. It works as a perfect partner with Matisse Flow.
“The most beautiful roses are painted in Matisse. “
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and blessed
Christmas and hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday season with your
families.
Alison and I sincerely thank you all for supporting us and look
forward to another fabulous year in 07, with plenty of beautiful roses and lots
more!
Happy Painting everyone,
Ros and Alison
